State the task and audience
Explain what needs to be produced, who will use it and what decision or action it should support. Use concrete language instead of asking the tool to make something good.
- Name the desired outcome
- Describe the audience
- Set the appropriate tone
Provide facts and boundaries
Supply approved source material and distinguish it from assumptions. Set length, format, exclusions and facts the system must not invent.
- Paste only safe information
- Require uncertainty to be identified
- Ask for source links when research is involved
Review through iteration
Check the first result for missing information and errors. Correct the instruction, request alternatives or break a complex task into stages.
- Verify all consequential claims
- Compare output with the original goal
- Save prompts that consistently work
